Overview

Okayama Prefecture is a hidden gem in western Japan, known for its sunny weather, beautiful gardens, and local legends. It’s home to Okayama Castle and Korakuen Garden, one of Japan’s most famous landscape gardens. The region is also tied to the folklore of Momotaro, the Peach Boy hero.

Just 15 minutes from Okayama City, Kurashiki is a must-visit for its historic canal district, where white-walled storehouses now host stylish cafes, museums, and artisan shops. It’s a great place to stroll, take photos, and step into the past.

The prefecture is easy to reach by bullet train from Osaka, Kyoto, and Hiroshima, making it a relaxing and enriching getaway from the crowds.
