Perched on a hilltop above Beppu, Suginoi Hotel blends luxury, relaxation, and family-friendly fun with panoramic views of Beppu Bay.

A Resort-Style Escape Above the City
Suginoi Hotel in Beppu is far more than just a place to stay. It’s a full-scale resort packed with entertainment, relaxation, and stunning views. We didn’t know quite what to expect when we booked it, but it quickly became one of our favorite memories of the trip.
If you’re traveling with kids, you’ll be wowed. Keep reading, and you’ll see exactly why.
Suginoi Palace – Entertainment for All Ages

At the heart of the resort are Aquabeat and Suginoi Palace. If you’re visiting during the warmer months, Aquabeat is a must for families. This indoor water park is part of Suginoi Palace and offers a full day of splash-filled fun—especially for kids and teens.
The space is bright and full of tropical energy, with a wave pool, lazy river, twisting waterslides, and splash zones for every age. Our kids couldn’t get enough of the slides and spent what felt like hours drifting along the gentle current. For younger children, there’s a dedicated shallow play area with mini fountains and soft slides. It felt safe, well-designed, and perfect for little ones who aren’t quite ready for the big rides.
Aquabeat is open seasonally, usually from late spring through early autumn. Hotel guests can enjoy it for free, while day visitors can purchase admission separately.
As evening rolled in, we made our way to Aqua Garden, the rooftop open-air bath with one of the best views in Beppu. We soaked in the warm onsen waters while watching the city lights shimmer across Beppu Bay. It was peaceful, beautiful, and unforgettable.
To top it all off, Aqua Garden puts on a nightly fountain show set to music. Steam rose from the baths as jets of water danced in time with the lights and soundtrack. It was a magical moment for us, and our kids were absolutely captivated.
Dining Options

When hunger hit, we grabbed dinner at World Dining Ceada Palace. This buffet has everything from Chinese dim sum to Italian pasta. We were surprised by how good the quality of the food was at the buffet. It’s no wonder Suginoi Hotel is always one of the highest ranked hotels on JTB.
