Why Visit Makaino Farm Resort?

Makaino Farm Resort is one of the most family-friendly stops in the Mt. Fuji area. While many visitors come for hot springs and hiking, this farm offers kids the chance to play outdoors and connect with animals in a safe and engaging setting. The best part is the stunning view of Mt. Fuji, which makes for unforgettable family photos.

We visited on a sunny spring day and loved the mix of open pastures, friendly animals, and fun activities. It felt like a refreshing pause from sightseeing and a chance to enjoy Japan’s countryside.

Things to Do at Makaino Farm Resort

At Makaino Farm Resort Shizuoka, a young child wearing yellow gloves gently pets a small animal, possibly a rabbit, in an outdoor animal enclosure with wooden fencing and wire mesh at the petting zoo.

Feed and Pet the Animals

Children can interact with sheep, goats, and rabbits at the petting zoo. Feed is sold at the entrance, and staff are there to help first-timers.

Milk a Cow

Families can try cow milking, guided by staff. It’s a great way for kids to learn where milk comes from and to experience farm life up close.

Pony Rides

For younger children, pony rides are one of the highlights. Staff make sure everything feels safe, giving kids a gentle introduction to horseback riding.

Craft Workshops

Seasonal activities like butter or sausage making are available on select days. They’re especially fun for older kids or parents who enjoy hands-on experiences.

Scenic Walks and Flower Fields

The farm has wide open meadows, seasonal flower fields, and picnic areas with swings. On clear days, Mt. Fuji dominates the view, making even a simple walk memorable.
