JOC Tokyo City Guide is now available!

Overview

Shikoku, Japan’s smallest main island, is rich in culture, nature, and coastal beauty. In Naruto, travelers come to see the world-famous Naruto Whirlpools, a dramatic natural spectacle in the strait between Shikoku and Awaji Island. Kochi offers a more relaxed pace with sandy beaches, lively markets, and Kochi Castle, one of Japan’s few original castles. In Matsuyama, visitors soak in history and healing at Dogo Onsen, Japan’s oldest hot spring bath, and explore Matsuyama Castle, which overlooks the city and Seto Inland Sea.

Shikoku is also known for its 88-temple pilgrimage route, stunning seaside drives, and welcoming local culture, making it a rewarding region to explore.
